Karate for kids

Karate has far reaching and positive effects on all its participants and is beneficial for adults and kids alike.
Karate is prescribed by many therapists for children with concentration and co-ordination problems.

Karate is helpful with the following:

  • Keep fit and self-defence.
  • Improve mental and physical capabilities.
  • Improve concentration levels.
  • Discipline.
  • Co-ordination and learning disabilities.
  • Boost confidence.
  • Teaches control, as bullying is not allowed.

Competition karate for kids

Throughout the year there are development tournaments held, these are for students in the lower grades. (Yellow to Purple belt)
The tournament rules for children are very strict. NO face contact is allowed for kumite (see WKF rules on the tournaments page)
and the Pinan katas are allowed for these grades.
